Jeff is the owner of Body Balance Personal Training, where we just celebrated our 16 year anniversary; he has over 25 years Personal Training and Fitness experience. His degree is B.S. in Exercise Science / Sports Medicine, National Strength and Conditioning Certified (NSCM) and IDEA Fitness Member since 1989. He was the head Nike trainer for over 10 years, in charge of Lattice Semi-Conductor corporate training 5 years, and has managed various other PersonalTraining Corporate businesses.
Bill has over 25 years of Personal Training and athletic training experience; he has his Masters in Exercise Science and has experienced many years in the athletic training field. He is certified with Cooper Institute for work with special populations. Bill’s knowledge of exercise rehab and injury evaluation makes him a very important part of the Body Balance team.
Tricia is ACE certified and has her degree in Exercise Science with minor in Nutrition. She is a full time trainer of three young boys, runs the accounting & operations of Body Balance, and conducts a weekly Women’s Outdoor Conditioning class in Sherwood. Tricia enjoys the outdoors and running.
Pam is certified with the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a personal trainer. She is an IDEA member and she is specialized in group training and nutritional coaching. She has a passion for people, fitness and healthy living. In addition she works as Jeff’s assistant and helps to oversee the everyday business needs of the studio. “Body Balance is truly a unique studio – this place goes beyond exceptional personal training and cultivates an atmosphere that will leave you encouraged to live a balanced life.”
Damon Schaefer is a certified Personal trainer with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Fitness and is certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine holding their advanced certification. He is a member of the IDEA elite personal trainers, and is an executive fitness expert with over 20 years of experience in the health and fitness industry. Damon has gained valuable experience in the fitness industry by personally competing in marathons, adventure racing, and mountain bike racing. He is also a three time Iron Man competitor. Damon has taken his passion for fitness to the community, by volunteering his time to train and coach children. It is his goal to introduce children to a lifestyle of health and fitness industry.
Jeremy Shidner is a certified Personal Trainer with over 15 years of Personal Training experience. He is certified with the National Academy of Sports Medicine, American Council of Exercise, is Apex certified, Stretch certified, and small group spinning certified. “Fitness has always been a part of my life, and I believe fitness needs to be fun and a way of life. If you train correctly, working out in the gym should be a fun experience.” Jeremy played 5 years of professional baseball and enjoys coaching youth sports, spending time with his family and is always trying to get into any pick up sports game he can. He also enjoys watching movies in his free time.
Leiza Munn B.S. CHC, CCH, has had a successful career in the fitness industry for 25+ years. She holds a B.S. in Exercise and Sports Science, is a Nutritional Therapist Graduate of the City-Guilds Institute College, England; a graduate of the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine; completed a degree in Pathology & Disease through Alternative Training, UK; is a Certificated Classical Homeopath, CCH; Certified Health Coach through IIN (Institute for Integrative Nutrition), NY; and has an animal naturopathic licence.
Joan is a Personal Trainer with a B.A. in Biology, a certification in WholyFit (a yoga-alternative and fitness trainer certification) she’s a member of IDEA Fitness and is currently studying to receive another certification with ISSA. She enjoys helping people reach their fitness goals by drawing from her personal experience of training with her college track team, several Hood-to-Coast runs, the Portland Marathon, mind-body exercise and general fitness training to maintain a healthy lifestyle. She started Align Fitness, LLC, in 2007 with a vision to bringbalance and flexibility as well as strength training to help others acheive their ideals of fitness, health and wellness. She currently teaches a few Flexible Strength (yoga-style) group classes in the Beaverton area in addition to training individuals and small groups at Body Balance.
Michael DeFabio graduated from Oregon State University with a BS in Physical Therapy. With a passion for heath and fitness his goal is to create a therapeutic fitness program that will elevate chronic pain, correct posture, while designing an exercise program for ALL fitness levels. With 20 years experience, Michael’s true passion is helping individual’s loose weight fast and safe with a medically formulated program that teaches the habits of health.
Cem Eren is the Owner of CemCondition LLC. He is certified with the American council of exercise, is a L.I.F.T Certified Trainer/instructor as well as being a USA boxing coach. He has trained several professional boxers to win world titles. Cem has been involved in sports since young age. He played on a soccer C league in Germany, was a professional boxer, and played College division 2 football. Cem has been in the health and fitness industry for 8+ years and values the art of listening to his clients/athletes to reach there BEST potential in life. When not training he enjoys the beauty of life. Outdoor activities, boxing and his family.
Passionate about health and fitness, Cara Esau equips her clients to reach their fitness potential. Cara specializes in helping individuals with weight loss goals or physical limitations to overcome their challenges and attain their goals. She loves to motivate others to excel, to gain strength and endurance, to lose weight and look great, and to exceed their own athletic dreams. Formerly an RN, Cara has always been a health and wellness expert. In addition, Cara is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Brooks ID member RRCA Certified Running Coach, and female winner of 2009 Death Valley Marathon.
Darrin is certified through the American Council on Exercise as a personal trainer. He has an additional certification as a Speed, Agility, & Quickness trainer through National Exercise & Sports Training Association. He is an IDEA fitness member and has been personally involved in sports and fitness for 30 years. He enjoys coaching adult and youth teams in basketball, baseball, softball, football, and track. Darrin’s philosophy on training and exercise is simple: “If you work hard, stay focused, keep your workouts fresh, and have fun while training, the results will come.”
